Sally's Food Garden

Tulbagh, Western Cape

About Sally

Gardening Experience: Novice

I live in Tulbagh, Western Cape. I am currently planning a garden makeover and want to include edible crops. I am interested in increasing my knowledge with regards plants and planting methods.

I am really enjoying the literature that accompanies this course. I’m also looking forward to eating my own vegetables!

About Sally's Garden

Size: <10 sq meter
# fed by garden:

This garden will feed a minimum of 2 people, I will be giving some of the vegetables to my gardener and my domestic worker. The total size of the garden is just less than 10m² and I consider myself a novice gardener. I have potted tomatoes and peppers in pots as then they can get more sun.

My vegetable patch only gets about 5 hours of sun. I have planted beetroot, bush bean and carrot seeds in situ. Lettuce and broccoli seedlings and some sweet basil, curly and flat leaf parsley. I have also planted onion seed, spinach and butternut into seed trays for transplanting at a later stage.
